January 2020 me vs December 2020 me are essentially two different women. I learned mountains more about myself, my capabilities, and my thresholds. There are 3 key things I am hoping to leave in 2020, and am holding myself accountable all 2021 long!
1. Waiting
If there is one thing we learned this year, it’s that we never know what is going to happen next! Many of us spent the year waiting for the world to return to normal, waiting for businesses to open, waiting for people to act on their promises, waiting for results. I say in 2021, we stop waiting for other people, events and opportunities. Take everything one day at a time, but take ownership for what you can.
Don’t wait for the world to return to normal, or for your next promotion or for the next thing to land in your lap… just do it now. You won’t regret starting early, but you will regret waiting too long.
2. Playing Small
Another thing I learned this year… there is no point playing small. The craziness of 2020 showed how much innovation and greatness can come from so much chaos. You don’t need to gamble everything you own, but take steps to invest more into what you believe in. If you really care about something, go big. There is no point wasting resources on a half-assed project.
3. Over Thinking
We all do it… making insignificant details all-consuming. This year proved that there is so much more than us. There is always something bigger, and we can’t waste our time sweating the small stuff. Of course, this is always easier said than done, but taking everything one day at a time is all we can do. Know your value in every situation, and use this to eliminate your fear of whatever is controlling your emotions.
Thanks for the recent like. Love your quote: You won’t regret starting early, but you will regret waiting too long.
